Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups cornmeal
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese cheddar or mozzarella
  • 1/4 cup butter softened
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Sesame seeds for topping optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.
  • Add the butter, milk, and egg to the dry ingredients, mixing until the dough comes together.
  • Stir in the grated cheese, making sure it is evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  • Divide the dough into 6 equal portions and shape them into round buns.
  • Place the buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
