Ingredients
  

For the Dough:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup water or as needed

  • 1 cup spinach chopped, optional
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Optional: herbs like parsley or dill

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Gradually add water and knead into a soft dough. Cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  • Divide the dough into small balls and roll each into a thin circle.
  • Spread the filling (cheese, spinach, or a combination) over half of the circle, then fold the other half over and seal the edges.
  • Heat a griddle or skillet over medium heat. Cook each gözleme for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown, brushing with olive oil if desired.
  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
