Ingredients

For the Wontons:

  • 20 wonton wrappers
  • 200 g ground pork or chicken
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp sugar

For the Broth:

  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 2 garlic cloves sliced
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix ground meat, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and sugar to prepare the wonton filling.
  • Place a small spoonful of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper. Wet the edges with water, fold into a triangle, and seal tightly. Optionally, bring the two bottom corners together to form a crescent shape.
  • Bring chicken broth to a simmer in a pot. Add sliced garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil for flavor.
  • Gently drop the wontons into the simmering broth and cook for 5-7 minutes until they float and the filling is fully cooked.
  • Ladle the soup into bowls, garnishing with sliced green onions. Serve hot.
