Olive Oil Bread

Flavored with the rich aroma of olive oil, this soft bread is a perfect accompaniment to your meals.

Servings 1 large loaf

Ingredients
  

  • 500 grams all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet dry yeast 7 grams
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1.5 cups warm water
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary or thyme optional

Instructions
 

  • Sift the flour into a large bowl, add the salt, and mix.
  • Dissolve the dry yeast and sugar in warm water and add to the flour.
  • Add the olive oil and optional rosemary or thyme, kneading the dough until smooth. Cover and let rise for 60 minutes.
  • Knead the dough again, shape into a round loaf, and place on a parchment-lined baking tray. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Dust the top lightly with flour or brush with olive oil. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 25-30 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven, let cool, and slice to serve.
