Lo Mein (Vegetable or Meat Noodles)
A flavorful Chinese noodle dish, Lo Mein combines stir-fried noodles with a mix of colorful vegetables and optionally tender slices of meat.

- 200 g lo mein noodles or egg noodles
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1 cup mixed vegetables e.g., carrots, bell peppers, broccoli
- 200 g chicken beef, or shrimp (optional, sliced or peeled)
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 2 green onions sliced
Cook lo mein noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add garlic and stir-fry until fragrant.
Add the protein (if using) and cook until fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, stir-fry the vegetables for 2-3 minutes until tender-crisp.
Return the noodles and protein to the skillet. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and sugar. Toss well to coat evenly.
Stir in sliced green onions and cook for an additional minute. Serve hot.
