Ingredients
  

For the Dough:

  • 1 cup milk powder
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp ghee or butter softened
  • 2-3 tbsp milk as needed for dough
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda

For the Syrup:

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1-2 saffron strands optional
  • 1 tsp rose water

For Frying:

  • Vegetable oil or ghee

Instructions
 

  • Mix milk powder, flour, ghee, and baking soda in a bowl. Gradually add milk to form a soft dough. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
  • In a pot, combine sugar and water. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 5 minutes. Add cardamom powder, saffron, and rose water. Keep the syrup warm.
  • Divide the dough into small balls, ensuring no cracks. Heat oil or ghee in a deep pan over low-medium heat. Fry the balls until golden brown, turning frequently.
  • Soak the fried balls in the warm syrup for at least 2 hours before serving.
