- 300 g beef or lamb cubed
- 2 cups cooked chickpeas or canned, drained
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 medium tomatoes diced
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups water or beef stock
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Sauté the onions until soft. Add the meat and cook until browned.
Stir in the tomato paste, diced tomatoes, and paprika. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
Add the chickpeas and water or beef stock. Season with salt and pepper. Cover and simmer for about 40-50 minutes, or until the meat is tender.
Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley, alongside rice or crusty bread.
