Dumplings (Chinese Dumplings)
A versatile and flavorful dish, Chinese dumplings can be steamed, boiled, or pan-fried, filled with a variety of savory ingredients, and served with a soy-based dipping sauce.

- 300 g ground pork or chicken
- 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
- 2 green onions finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove minced
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 20-25 dumpling wrappers
- Vegetable oil for frying
For Dipping Sauce:
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
In a bowl, mix ground meat, cabbage, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and salt until well combined.
Place a small spoonful of filling in the center of each dumpling wrapper. Wet the edges with water, fold the wrapper, and pleat to seal tightly.
Heat a tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Arrange the dumplings in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
Add 1/4 cup of water to the skillet, cover with a lid, and steam the dumplings for 5 minutes until the filling is cooked through.
Remove the lid and cook for another 1-2 minutes to crisp the bottoms again.
Serve hot with the dipping sauce.
