Crispy Spiced Halloumi Cheese Sticks

- 250 g halloumi cheese cut into sticks
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour or gluten-free flour
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs use gluten-free if needed
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper optional
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil for frying
- Fresh parsley for garnish optional
- Dipping sauce optional, such as yogurt or sweet chili sauce
In a shallow dish, combine the flour, breadcrumbs, paprika, garlic powder, oregano, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
Dip each halloumi stick into the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to coat all sides evenly.
Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the halloumi sticks and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden and crispy.
Remove the cheese sticks from the pan and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
