Chicken with Creamy Mushroom Sauce

Tender chicken breasts pan-seared and served with a rich and creamy mushroom sauce.

Ingredients
  

For the Chicken

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

For the Mushroom Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 200 g mushrooms sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme or 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Season the chicken breasts with olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and cook the chicken breasts for 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and keep warm.
  • In the same skillet, add butter and sauté the mushrooms for 4-5 minutes.
  • Stir in the garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  • Add chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine. Season with thyme, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet, coat with the sauce, and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  • Serve warm.
