Shrimp and Basil Pasta

A light pasta dish with tender shrimp, fresh basil, and a flavorful olive oil-based sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 300 g spaghetti or linguine
  • 300 g shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese optional
  • Salt and black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and optional red pepper flakes and sauté for 1 minute.
  • Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until pink and cooked through.
  • Stir in chicken broth and lemon juice, simmering for 2-3 minutes.
  • Toss the cooked pasta into the skillet and mix well. Add fresh basil leaves and cook for 1 more minute.
  • Optional: Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and serve warm.
