
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Classic cookies with a crisp edge and soft, chewy center, loaded with gooey chocolate chips.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter softened
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a larger bowl, beat softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy. Add the egg yolk and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers look slightly underdone. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
