Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a larger bowl, beat softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy. Add the egg yolk and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers look slightly underdone. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
