
Walnut Rye Bread
This healthy and hearty rye bread, filled with crunchy walnut pieces, is perfect for breakfasts or meals.
Ingredients
- 250 grams rye flour
- 250 grams all-purpose flour
- 1 packet dry yeast 7 grams
- 1.5 cups warm water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 cup walnuts coarsely chopped
Instructions
- Sift the rye flour and all-purpose flour into a large bowl, add the salt, and mix.
- Dissolve the dry yeast and honey in warm water and add to the flour mixture. Knead the dough.
- Incorporate the chopped walnuts into the dough. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for 60 minutes.
- Shape the risen dough into a round loaf and place it on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Score the top of the dough with a sharp knife. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 30-35 minutes.
- Remove from the oven, let cool, and slice to serve.
