
Olive Focaccia
This delicious focaccia recipe, with a crispy crust and a soft interior flavored with olives, brings a Mediterranean touch to your table.
Ingredients
- 250 grams all-purpose flour
- 1/2 packet dry yeast 3.5 grams
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup sliced black and green olives halved
- Fresh rosemary sprigs optional
- Sea salt and olive oil for topping
Instructions
- Sift the flour into a large bowl. Make a well in the center, add the yeast and sugar. Pour in the warm water and dissolve the yeast, letting it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add the olive oil and salt, then knead the dough. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for 60 minutes.
- Spread the risen dough onto a greased baking tray and create dimples with your fingertips. Sprinkle the olives and fresh rosemary over the dough.
- Cover and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Drizzle olive oil over the top and sprinkle with sea salt. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 20 minutes, until golden brown.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
