Olive Focaccia

This delicious focaccia recipe, with a crispy crust and a soft interior flavored with olives, brings a Mediterranean touch to your table.

Ingredients
  

  • 250 grams all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 packet dry yeast 3.5 grams
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sliced black and green olives halved
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs optional
  • Sea salt and olive oil for topping

Instructions
 

  • Sift the flour into a large bowl. Make a well in the center, add the yeast and sugar. Pour in the warm water and dissolve the yeast, letting it sit for 5 minutes.
  • Add the olive oil and salt, then knead the dough. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for 60 minutes.
  • Spread the risen dough onto a greased baking tray and create dimples with your fingertips. Sprinkle the olives and fresh rosemary over the dough.
  • Cover and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Drizzle olive oil over the top and sprinkle with sea salt. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 20 minutes, until golden brown.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature.
