
French Baguette
A traditional French baguette with a crispy crust and soft interior, perfect for breakfasts or accompanying meals.
Ingredients
- 500 grams all-purpose flour
- 1 packet dry yeast 7 grams
- 1.5 cups warm water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
Instructions
- Sift the flour into a large bowl, add the salt, and mix. Dissolve the dry yeast and sugar in warm water, then add to the flour mixture.
- Knead the dough until smooth and elastic. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for 60 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a long, thin baguette and place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Make several slashes on top of each baguette with a sharp knife. Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C (430°F) for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, let cool, and slice to serve.
