French Baguette

A traditional French baguette with a crispy crust and soft interior, perfect for breakfasts or accompanying meals.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 grams all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet dry yeast 7 grams
  • 1.5 cups warm water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

Instructions
 

  • Sift the flour into a large bowl, add the salt, and mix. Dissolve the dry yeast and sugar in warm water, then add to the flour mixture.
  • Knead the dough until smooth and elastic. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for 60 minutes.
  • Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a long, thin baguette and place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Make several slashes on top of each baguette with a sharp knife. Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C (430°F) for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven, let cool, and slice to serve.
