Spaghetti Pomodoro

A classic Italian recipe, Spaghetti Pomodoro is a simple yet flavorful dish made with fresh tomato sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 400 g spaghetti
  • 4 large tomatoes grated
  • 2 garlic cloves finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp red chili flakes optional
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish
  • Grated Parmesan cheese optional

Instructions
 

  • Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, following the package instructions.
  • In the meantime, heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Sauté the garlic for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add the grated tomatoes to the pan, followed by salt, pepper, sugar, and chili flakes (if using). Simmer the sauce on low heat for 15 minutes.
  • Drain the cooked spaghetti and add it to the pan. Toss to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.
  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
