
Spaghetti Pomodoro
A classic Italian recipe, Spaghetti Pomodoro is a simple yet flavorful dish made with fresh tomato sauce.
Ingredients
- 400 g spaghetti
- 4 large tomatoes grated
- 2 garlic cloves finely chopped
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp red chili flakes optional
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese optional
Instructions
- Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, following the package instructions.
- In the meantime, heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Sauté the garlic for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the grated tomatoes to the pan, followed by salt, pepper, sugar, and chili flakes (if using). Simmer the sauce on low heat for 15 minutes.
- Drain the cooked spaghetti and add it to the pan. Toss to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
