
Paneer Tikka Masala (Spiced Paneer Curry)
A flavorful and creamy Indian dish, Paneer Tikka Masala features grilled paneer cubes simmered in a rich, spiced tomato-based curry.
Ingredients
For the Paneer Tikka:
- 200 g paneer cubed
- 1/4 cup yogurt
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tbsp oil
For the Masala Sauce:
- 2 tbsp butter or oil
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1 tsp ginger grated
- 1 cup tomato puree
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Salt to taste
For Garnish:
- Fresh cilantro leaves
- Swirl of cream
Instructions
Prepare Paneer Tikka:
- Marinate paneer cubes with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, chili powder, garam masala, and oil. Let it rest for 15 minutes. Grill or pan-fry the marinated paneer cubes until golden and slightly charred. Set aside.
Make the Masala Sauce:
- Heat butter in a pan and sauté onions, garlic, and ginger until soft and fragrant. Add tomato puree, chili powder, cumin, and coriander powder. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Stir in cream and simmer for another 5 minutes. Add the grilled paneer cubes and mix gently to coat them in the sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Garnish with cilantro and a swirl of cream. Serve hot with naan or rice.
