İskender Kebap is a classic Turkish dish featuring thinly sliced döner meat served over pita bread, topped with rich tomato sauce and melted butter, accompanied by a side of yogurt.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g thinly sliced lamb or beef döner
  • 4 pita breads cubed
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 3 tbsp butter melted
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Toast the pita bread cubes in olive oil until golden and crispy. Set aside.
  • Heat the tomato sauce in a pan and keep it warm.
  • In a skillet, cook the döner meat slices until slightly crispy.
  • Arrange the toasted pita bread on a plate. Top with the döner slices and pour the warm tomato sauce over the meat. Drizzle with melted butter.
  • Serve hot with a side of yogurt and garnish with fresh parsley.
