
Wonton Soup (Meat-Filled Dumpling Soup)
A comforting Chinese soup, Wonton Soup features tender wontons filled with meat, served in a clear and flavorful broth.
Ingredients
For the Wontons:
- 20 wonton wrappers
- 200 g ground pork or chicken
- 1 garlic clove minced
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp sugar
For the Broth:
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 2 garlic cloves sliced
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- 2 green onions sliced, for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix ground meat, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and sugar to prepare the wonton filling.
- Place a small spoonful of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper. Wet the edges with water, fold into a triangle, and seal tightly. Optionally, bring the two bottom corners together to form a crescent shape.
- Bring chicken broth to a simmer in a pot. Add sliced garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil for flavor.
- Gently drop the wontons into the simmering broth and cook for 5-7 minutes until they float and the filling is fully cooked.
- Ladle the soup into bowls, garnishing with sliced green onions. Serve hot.
