
Hummus (Chickpea and Tahini Dip)
A creamy and savory dip made from chickpeas and tahini, perfect for serving with pita bread or vegetables.
Ingredients
- 1 can chickpeas drained and rinsed (or 1 1/2 cups cooked chickpeas)
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 garlic clove minced
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Water as needed for desired consistency
- Paprika and fresh parsley for garnish optional
Instructions
- In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, salt, and black pepper.
- Blend until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and drizzle with olive oil.
- Garnish with paprika and fresh parsley if desired.
- Serve with pita bread, crackers, or fresh vegetables.
