
Mini Cheese Pastries
Soft and savory mini pastries filled with cheese, perfect for breakfast, tea time, or as a snack.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 egg reserve yolk for brushing
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
For the Filling:
- 100 g feta cheese or any soft cheese crumbled
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley optional
For Garnish:
- 1 egg yolk for brushing
- 1 tsp sesame seeds or nigella seeds
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together yogurt, vegetable oil, egg, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the flour and mix until a soft dough forms.
- In a separate bowl, mix the crumbled cheese with parsley for the filling.
- Divide the dough into small portions (about the size of a walnut) and flatten each into a small disc.
- Place a spoonful of the cheese filling in the center of each disc, fold, and pinch the edges to seal.
- Arrange the pastries on the prepared baking tray. Brush with egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame or nigella seeds.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
