Mini Cheese Pastries

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg reserve yolk for brushing
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

For the Filling:

  • 100 g feta cheese or any soft cheese crumbled
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley optional

For Garnish:

  • 1 egg yolk for brushing
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds or nigella seeds

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together yogurt, vegetable oil, egg, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the flour and mix until a soft dough forms.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the crumbled cheese with parsley for the filling.
  • Divide the dough into small portions (about the size of a walnut) and flatten each into a small disc.
  • Place a spoonful of the cheese filling in the center of each disc, fold, and pinch the edges to seal.
  • Arrange the pastries on the prepared baking tray. Brush with egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame or nigella seeds.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.
