Cheese and Olive Puff Pastry Sticks

Ingredients
  

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry thawed
  • 50 g shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • 30 g black or green olives finely chopped
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds optional, for garnish
  • 1 tsp dried oregano or thyme optional, for flavor

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  • Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
  • Sprinkle half of the cheese and chopped olives evenly over one half of the pastry sheet.
  • Fold the other half of the pastry over the filling and gently press to seal.
  • Cut the pastry into 1.5 cm wide strips. Twist each strip gently to form a spiral.
  • Place the twisted sticks onto the prepared baking tray. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds and dried oregano, if desired.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.
