
Soy Sauce Teriyaki Salmon
A flavorful and glossy salmon dish cooked in a savory teriyaki sauce, perfect for a quick and healthy meal.
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
For the Teriyaki Sauce
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger grated
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water optional, for thickening
For Garnish
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 2 green onions sliced
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger to prepare the teriyaki sauce.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the salmon fillets skin-side down and cook for 3-4 minutes. Flip and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes until cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, pour the teriyaki sauce mixture and bring it to a simmer. If you prefer a thicker sauce, stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 1-2 minutes until thickened.
- Return the salmon to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the fillets. Cook for 1-2 minutes to coat the salmon in the sauce.
- Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions. Pair with steamed rice and vegetables for a complete meal.
