
Chicken with Creamy Mushroom Sauce
Tender chicken breasts pan-seared and served with a rich and creamy mushroom sauce.
Ingredients
For the Chicken
- 4 chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For the Mushroom Sauce
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 200 g mushrooms sliced
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme or 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and black pepper
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and cook the chicken breasts for 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and keep warm.
- In the same skillet, add butter and sauté the mushrooms for 4-5 minutes.
- Stir in the garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Add chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine. Season with thyme, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, coat with the sauce, and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Serve warm.
