
Olive Oil Bread
Flavored with the rich aroma of olive oil, this soft bread is a perfect accompaniment to your meals.
Ingredients
- 500 grams all-purpose flour
- 1 packet dry yeast 7 grams
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1.5 cups warm water
- 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary or thyme optional
Instructions
- Sift the flour into a large bowl, add the salt, and mix.
- Dissolve the dry yeast and sugar in warm water and add to the flour.
- Add the olive oil and optional rosemary or thyme, kneading the dough until smooth. Cover and let rise for 60 minutes.
- Knead the dough again, shape into a round loaf, and place on a parchment-lined baking tray. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Dust the top lightly with flour or brush with olive oil. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 25-30 minutes.
- Remove from the oven, let cool, and slice to serve.
